to use works published in Atlas Poetica and written
by anyone other than M. Kei, first attempt to contact the poet directly to
make your request. If you cannot reach someone this way, write to us and we will try
to assist you in making contact. If ultimately you cannot contact the poet, you cannot
obtain reprint permission from Modern English Tanka Press.
This website and the print journal, Atlas Poetica: A Journal of Poetry of Place in Modern
English Tanka, are copyrighted by Modern English Tanka Press. Authors and artists retain their
personal copyrights whether or not their works are published by us.
For all published items, copyrights revert to the poet, author, or artist after publication.
When we publish a previously unpublished work, we require first world English rights,
plus the right to reprint the work in our compilations and archives.
We do not acceptmaterial that has been previously published in English. Poems
published in another language are eligible if accompanied by English translation.
We require exclusive rights only until ninety days after the print edition becomes available.
After that ninety-day period, our rights are entirely non-exclusive.
By submitting a work to us, you attest that the work is not the result
of plagiarism, and that you have the personal copyrights to the work and are not violating any
other publication arrangement with any publisher or other party. You agree to hold harmless
Modern English Tanka Press, M. Kei, and Denis M. Garrison for any violation of
copyright caused by your misrepresentation in these respects. If publishing the work would
possibly violate any other copyrights, discuss the details of the situation in the note
which accompanies your submission to us.
Modern English Tanka Press announces hereby that it seeks to ensure

and that any violation of copyright that may occur is unintentional and will be
corrected, as may be possible, immediately upon notification of infringement which can be
verified. If you have any information regarding infringement of copyright, plagiarism, or any
other violation with respect to a work published in, or being considered for publication in,
Atlas Poetica, please notify us immediately at publisher (at) atlaspoetica (dot) com.
