Denis M. Garrison is a poet and editor. His well-received collection of free and formal 
verse, Sailor in the Rain and Other Poems, is currently in print as are his haiku 
collections, Hidden River, Eight Shades of Blue, and Fire Blossoms: The Birth 
of Haiku Noir. Garrison edits the respected journals Modern English Tanka 
and Ambrosia: Journal of Fine Haiku. He owns and operates the MET Press, a small 
publishing house specializing in fine verse.

Earlier Journals

Denis M. Garrison was a founding editor (digital edition) of AMAZE: THE CINQUAIN JOURNAL (ISSNs 1935-8857 and 1935-8849). The primary resource for the American Cinquain, Amaze is a print annual and digital quarterly journal. Since the second issue, Deborah P. Kolodji, also a founding editor (print edition), has continued as the Editor of AMAZE.

Garrison also was the founding Editor of LOCH RAVEN REVIEW (ISSN 1557-7627). Jim Doss was the founding Associate Editor. Since the second issue, Jim Doss and Christopher T. George have been the Editors of LOCH RAVEN REVIEW, a print annual and digital quarterly journal of poetry, short fiction, and articles.

Denis M. Garrison was the Editor of HAIKU HARVEST: JOURNAL OF HAIKU IN ENGLISH (ISSNs 1557-7619 and 1558-9862) from 2000 through 2006. Haiku Harvest incorporated into itself two separate journals with brief runs: HAIKU NOIR and KU NOUVEAU (Ku Nouveau was co-edited by John Carley of England).

HAIKU CYCLES was an ebook project of the World Haiku Club in partnership with the Haiku Harvest journal. Denis M. Garrison edited the 2001 and 2002 Haiku Cycles ebooks. A collection of "haiku cycles" contains twelve haiku from each participating poet, with one for each month and with locally relevant kigo (season-words) for a single geographic region.

Denis M. Garrison also edited TEMPLAR PHOENIX LITERARY REVIEW, a general literary review, and GUNPOWDER RIVER POETRY, a general poetry review.

In his college days, Garrison edited the Towson University literary magazine, Talisman.
