Modern Haiga published issues in 2008 and 2009. It's annual boards of editors accepted submissions year-around. It published
graphic poetry in an online annual collection, from which an annual print edition (a full-color perfect bound book) was selected.
Modern Haiga 2008 was named Best Graphic Poetry Book in The Montserrat Review's "Best Books for Spring, 2009." The journal closed in 2010.
